New Medical Director appointed at local NHS trust
Bringing over 27 years’ experience of mental health psychiatry and 18 years working in the NHS, Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT) is pleased to appoint Dr Girish Kunigiri as its new Medical Director, following a robust national NHS executive search.
Dr Kunigiri who currently works at Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust as Deputy Medical Director will be bringing to Lincolnshire a wealth of experience at a senior clinical level, as well as regional clinical leadership from his Clinical Director role with the East Midlands Clinical Network for Mental Health.
Sarah Connery, Chief Executive at LPFT said:
“I am delighted to have been able to appoint Girish. He made a great impression with the panel of staff, governors and other stakeholders involved in the assessment and interview process.
“I am very much looking forward to working with Girish as we continue to improve our services and work with health and care partners to deliver high quality, sustainable services for the future.”
Dr Girish is a keen advocate for mental health, learning disability and autism services and has a successful track record of leading the implementation of the NHS England Five Year Forward View and Long-Term Plan in Mental Health across the region, as well as working as part of an integrated health and care system to deliver mental health services that meet the needs of the local community.
Dr Girish Kunigiri added:
“I am equally delighted and honoured to be appointed as the Medical Director in Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. I am intrigued by its rich culture and there is a true sense of belonging, passion and ambition. I believe with strong organisational values, together we can make a positive difference to the lives of staff and those we care for.”
Dr Girish will officially move to his new role in Lincolnshire in the autumn.
