Holdingham Helpers - Sleaford coronavirus volunteers
The Holdingham Helpers was set up in March 2020 to provide the following free services to residents in Sleaford only (sorry not the outlying villages, as we don't have drivers in those places).
OUR SERVICES
- Doing shopping
- Collecting prescriptions
- Taking letters or parcels to the Post Office
- Walking dogs
- A friendly phone call, for someone to talk to
- Advice on Covid-19 problems
VOLUNTEER DRIVERS TO VACCINATION CENTRES
We now also provide a volunteer driver service to take people from Sleaford only to the vaccination centres in Grantham or Boston.
Anyone requesting this lift service will be asked to confirm that they are not showing any symptoms of Covid-19 nor been told to isolate by NHS Test and Trace. Clients will also be asked to make a £5 donation for petrol to the driver.
When taking a lift with a volunteer driver clients must:
1 Check before departing that they have their invitation to vaccinate letter with their NHS number etc. And that they have any confirmatory letter.
2 Use hand gel before getting into the vehicle.
3 Wear a face covering at all times on the outward and return journeys and while at the vaccination centre.
4 Sit in a rear seat of the vehicle and leave the window next to them slightly open for ventilation (please wear warm clothes).
TO BOOK HELP WITH ONE OF OUR SERVICE OR TO BOOK A LIFT TO A VACCINATION CENTRE
Please phone 07523 327697 between 10am and 6pm Monday to Friday.
Services can only be provided if we can find a volunteer available. But we have never failed to help anyone yet!
Best wishes
