GP Key Messages to Patients
Key Messages to Patients: Patients need to be aware of up to date information on how to access the most appropriate service at the right time on their health journey. This is where this Toolkit supports your surgery’s Patient Participation Group (PPG).
The Toolkit is the result of a collaboration between Healthwatch Lincolnshire and a number of PPGs and the focus was on how best to support the patient. What do they need to know about their surgery and how do they find the information?
This Toolkit provides an opportunity for the PPG to actively encourage a better understanding of the services on offer and be available to support patients in this understanding.
Healthwatch Lincolnshire would like to acknowledge the support from the following PPGs and Forums for their support: Beechfield Medical Centre, Spalding; Lakeside Healthcare at Stamford; Swineshead Medical Centre; Nettleham Medical Practice, Lincoln; Spilsby Surgery; Sidings Medical Practice and Boston Boston Disability Forum.
The Toolkit is intended as a working resource for the PPG and has been designed to develop and evolve over time with the growing needs of the service and patients.
Useful Videos - Services available from your GP practice
There are lots of services available from your GP practice, all of which are provided by a range of health care staff.
Often the perception is that patients have to be treated by a doctor. This is not always the case as doctors within GP practices are supported by a specialist team of nurses, healthcare assistants, physiotherapists and pharmacists.
Click the link below for a series of videos that explain the roles of different staff working within a GP practice and how they can support you to manage your health and wellbeing.
