Healthwatch Lincolnshire Reports on Emergency Department Quality Visits

Healthwatch Lincolnshire has conducted a visit of Emergency Department (ED) Quality Visits within the United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (ULTH). This visit aimed to gather patient and staff feedback, assess care quality, and highlight areas for improvement in emergency care services.

Emergency departments play a critical role in healthcare, often providing urgent and life-saving treatment. However, pressures such as staff shortages, waiting times, and patient experiences can impact service delivery.

Key Findings

During the visits, Healthwatch Lincolnshire spoke with patients, carers, and frontline staff to understand their experiences. The report highlights:

  • Patient Experience: Feedback on waiting times, communication, and overall satisfaction with care.
  • Staff Perspectives: Insights into workforce challenges, resource availability, and morale.
  • Environment & Facilities: Observations on accessibility, cleanliness, and patient comfort.
  • Service Efficiency: Identifying potential improvements in triage processes and patient flow.

Next Steps

Healthwatch Lincolnshire have shared the findings  with ULTH and other healthcare stakeholders to support positive changes in emergency care services.
