Advice and support service now available for autistic people and their families
A dedicated team, recruited by Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, are now taking enquiries to offer non-clinical advice, signposting to local groups and services, information about autism and routes to diagnosis. The service, commissioned by NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board, also offers practical support such as help in filling out forms and accompanying people to first meetings.
Anyone who would like to request support from the hub should contact them directly via the contact details below. People do not need a referral or a formal diagnosis of autism to receive support.
As previously communicated, the service is also geared to harnessing the already vital work underway by community and support groups for autistic people. Financial support delivered through an annual grants programme will bolster the strength and reach of groups to create a co-ordinated county-wide network.
The service received a wealth of applications and are now in the process of notifying successful applicants. Groups who will receive a share of £100,000 in funding will be announced in May.
Our commitment to supporting groups is a key priority and additional funding will be available for autism community groups until at least 2026.
This is an exciting development for the county and something we are confident will have a positive impact for autistic individuals, their families and carers.
Please do share news of this service with anyone who may benefit. Leaflets promoting the hub are also available on request by emailing lpft.communications@nhs.net
