Public Health England has launched a new campaign to raise awareness of the risks of cervical cancer and encourage women to respond to their cervical screening invitation letters, or to book an appointment with their GP if they missed previous invites.
Two women die every day from cervical cancer in England, but cervical screening can help prevent cancer and is estimated to save 5,000 lives a year. Catching more cancers early is a cornerstone of The NHS Long Term Plan to save a further 55,000 lives a year.
