Healthwatch Lincolnshire Talks About: St Marys GP Surgery, Stamford - site closure
Our purpose as local Healthwatch and statutory function is to ensure that we provide a watchdog role on the delivery of the health and care services for Lincolnshire patients.
Healthwatch feel that the process and transparency around the proposed closure of St Marys Medical Practice in Stamford, constitutes a contractual change of service for the patients which does not appear to have been carried out in the best interest of the Lakeside patients. Up to this point in time, Healthwatch has received periodic feedback only through the Primary Care Co-Commissioning Group (PCCC) on the Lakeside merger as well as anticipated developments for the practice. Our first formal meeting regarding the closure of the Lakeside Healthcare St Mary’s site was on the 5th October 2020 with the Lakeside Healthcare Project Team. We have also met with the Lakeside Patient Participation Group (PPG) on the 8th October.
Our aim is to ensure that patient voices are heard, to enable a balanced and reasoned approach, securing the future of health and care services and make certain these services are meeting the needs of the people they serve.
It is important that patients are reminded that Lakeside Healthcare will continue to deliver GP services in Stamford.
We would encourage all patients impacted by the St Marys proposal to share their comments directly on the local survey which can be found here https://www.lakesidehealthcarestamford.co.uk/closure-of-st-marys-surgery
