Partnerships with purpose - Salted Orange Food Co and Age UK Lincoln & South Lincolnshire

Age UK Lincoln & South Lincolnshire are continually adapting in these unprecedented times to support our customers.  As we navigate our way through these challenging and ever changing times, we wanted to reassure you that we are working hard to ensure the continuation of our services for those who need them the most.

Following Government guidance, we have closed our Park Street Activity Centre and restaurant and our day centre and retail charity shops. We are in contact with the 4000 older people we currently support per week and are still delivering our essential services to these customers. We are also taking calls for new help and support daily.

The way deliver of our services may change over the coming weeks and months, our commitment to our customers and older people will not change. We will be here throughout this crisis.

The first new initiative we are pleased to share in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and the crucial need for older isolated people to be able to eat and have home cooked meals is:

“Food Through Adversity”

  • Home cooked meals for the over 65s in Lincoln and South Lincolnshire
  • 21 meals for £20* – 12 week menu available – Call now to order 03455 564 144

Age UK Lincoln & South Lincolnshire have launched Food Through Adversity, in partnership with local catering company Salted Orange Food Co.  Offering 21 nutritious meals for just £20. These vital food supplies will delivered to over 65s throughout Lincolnshire, as a response to the spread of COVID-19.

As many older, vulnerable people struggle to buy supplies due to stockpiling and Coronavirus, we vow to tackle the issue head on with help from their project partner, Salted Orange Food Company and an army of volunteer “Community Heroes”

The weekly deliveries available for up to 12 weeks ensure that those who need it have access to three meals a day, seven days a week without the worry and stress and often logistical challenges of supermarket shopping.

Age UK Lincoln & South Lincolnshire have received an unprecedented amount of calls from older people needing help and support just to acquire basic supplies.
